US Army Mortar Fire Control System Equipment Training

The Challenge: PM Mortars needed to find a way to decrease the amount of classroom time required for their NET (New Equipment Training) class. Instructional methods at the time required over 80 hours of instructor-led classroom training. PM Mortars wanted a computer based training solution that would give soldiers more knowledge before entering the course thereby reducing the amount of class time needed.

Our Solution: Our solution was to create a browser-based, fully web deliverable training application. We combined software emulation, video instruction, 3D animation and a text to speech driven avatar into 11 hours of Level 2 IMI for the Mortar Fire Control System. This reduces the hours required to train a soldier and lowers the over-all training cost.
